Chez Nous Mix Session #01 - Hatchmatik

La musique a toujours été une partie intégrale de l'identité OTH; nous sommes donc très excités de vous présenter notre plus récent projet, la série "Chez Nous Mix Sessions". Pour la série, nous avons demandé à plusieurs DJs montréalais de créer des mixes qui représentaient leur son personnel.

C'est Hatchmatik qui a eu l'honneur de la première session sur les disques d'acier, créant un mix house d'un peu plus d'une heure qui est parfait pour vos matinées, les week-ends, et bien sur, la boutique! Écoutez-le ci-dessous et restez à l'affût des prochaines éditions "Chez Nous Mix Sessions"!

Music has always been a very important part of OTH's DNA; as such, we are very excited to unveil our latest project, the "Chez Nous Mix Sessions". We have invited a number of taste-making Montreal DJs to get behind the turntables and showcase their personal taste in music.

We turned to Hatchmatik for Mix Session #01 and he certainly did not disappoint, laying down an hour-long house mix that's perfect to listen to on a morning commute, a lazy weekend, or at the shop. Drake - How About Now (WYLN Edit)

Depuis quelques jours, Drake laisse sortir quelques chansons pour bien s'assurer qu'on est prêts pour son prochain album, Views From the 6. Une de ces chansons fût How About Now, qui a déjà été réinterprétée par le producteur montréalais WYLN. 

Notre seul commentaire négatif sur la version de WYLN est qu'elle ne dure que trois minutes. Peut-être que le rappeur torontois et le producteur montréalais devrait combiner leurs forces dans le futur. Jetez un coup d'oreille au remix de WYLN en bas de page.

Oh, Canada. Drake's been dropping some songs over the last few days to ease us into Drizzy season before he drops his latest album, Views From the 6. One of those tracks was How About Now, which has already been remixed by Montreal-based producer WYLN.

WYLN's take on the track is arguably better than the original. Our only complaint is that it's only 3 minutes long. Maybe the Toronto rapper and the Montreal producer should team for something in the future. Give it a listen below. 

Jacques Greene - FACT Mix 467

Nous sommes toujours fiers des Montréalais qui entament des gros projets, surtout dans le domaine créatif. Depuis 2010, Jacques Greene crée de la musique house qui joue à la fois dans les club et chez nous lorsqu'on se détend. 

C'est le génie qu'est Jacques Greene. 

Les adeptes de music house sont surement familiers avec Greene, et le connaissent peut-être sous le pseudonyme de Hovatron, le nom qu'il utilisait avant 2010 lorsqu'il jouait dans les raves montréalais. Depuis ce temps, il a collaboré avec des actes tels que Radiohead, Tinashe et the xx, pour en nommer quelques uns. Clairement, Jacques Green est en train de connaitre du succès. 

Jetez un coup d'oeil au mix qu'il a fait pour FACT magazine, et attendez-vous à l'entendre en boutique. 

We're always proud of Montrealers doing big things, particularly those in the creative realm.  Since 2010, Jacques Greene has been creating hip-hop and R&B-inspired house anthems that feel just as appropriate in a club as they do when you're lounging around at home.

That's the genius of Jacques Greene. 

Montrealers are surely no stranger to Jacques Greene, and may even know him as Hovatron, the moniker he used prior to 2010 when DJing in Montreal's rave scene. Since then, he's gone on to collaborate with Radiohead, Tinashe and the xx, to name a few. Needless to say, Jacques Greene's been killing it. 

Give a listen to his mix for FACT Magazine and familiarize yourself with it, because you'll surely hear it playing in the shop. 

Monday mornings, sunny side up.

Monday mornings are hard to handle for most, but thankfully, we all have some distractions at our fingertips to get us by. As of now, we will be taking the time to get you through your morning with some music that we can all relate to. Sit back, stop what you're doing, and have a listen to this legendary anthem featured in "The good, the bad and the ugly". It comes strongly recommended from the office over here at OTH!
